Make it yours with AI

Let the AI app you already use rewrite an imported starter site for your business. No AI key, and nothing on your site calls an AI service.

On this page

Pro and Agency. On the Free plan, the dialog explains the feature and links to the plans.

After you import a starter site, every text still describes the starter's sample business. Make it yours hands the rewrite to your own AI app, such as Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor, connected to your site over MCP. The app rewrites every heading, paragraph, button and list of the starter for your business. The layout, images, styles and links stay as they are.

You need no AI key for this. The AI app works with your own account in that app, and your site never calls an AI service by itself. Uncoder prepares the job: it keeps your business details, keeps a copy of every page so you can undo, and writes the instruction for the AI app.

Before you start

Only administrators can use Make it yours.

Describe your business

Go to Uncoder → Starter Sites and click Make it yours with AI at the top. The same button appears in the dialog right after you import a starter. The dialog Make it yours with your AI app opens with a form:

FieldWhat to enter
Business name (required)Your business as customers know it.
Location or area servedA town, region or "online", for example Leeds and West Yorkshire.
What you do (required)Two or three sentences: what you offer, what makes you different.
Services or productsOne per line, with a few words each if you like.
Your customersWho you work for, for example Families and busy professionals.
ToneProfessional, Friendly, Confident, Simple and plain or Persuasive.
Phone, Email, AddressYour contact details, written into the pages where the starter has its own.
LanguageThe language of the new texts. It starts with your site's language.
Opening hoursOne line per day or range.
Anything elsePrices, years in business, awards: only what is true. Without them the AI app leaves placeholders.

The form starts with what your Business & SEO details already say, and remembers what you entered last time.

Below the form, two options are on:

  • Use the business name as the site title sets the site title under WordPress Settings → General.
  • Fill the empty Business & SEO details adds your name, description, phone, email and area to the Business & SEO settings where they are still empty. Details you already entered are never changed.

Click Continue. Uncoder first keeps a copy of every page and site part, so you can put any of them back later.

Hand the job to your AI app

  1. Copy the instruction

Under Paste this into your AI app, click Copy the instruction.

  2. Paste it into your AI app

Open a new chat in the AI app that is connected to this site, paste the instruction and send it. The app works through the pages one by one.

  3. Watch the pages change

The dialog lists every page and site part: pages and posts built with Uncoder, the header, the footer, popups, saved sections and the 404 page. As the app works, each one changes from Starter text to Rewritten. The list updates every few seconds.

You can close the dialog while the app works. When you open Make it yours with AI again, it goes straight to this list. To change your answers, click Edit the details, then Continue for a new instruction.

If the dialog shows Connect your AI app first, no AI app can reach the site yet, or the MCP server is switched off. Click Connect an AI app to open Uncoder → AI & MCP.

What the instruction asks for

The instruction tells the AI app exactly what to do, so you do not need to explain anything:

  • Rewrite every heading, text, button, list item, accordion item, testimonial, form label and option, and image alt text for your business, keeping each text's job and about its length.
  • Change no layout, style or image.
  • Replace the starter's business name, places and people with yours. Phone and email links get your phone and email, and maps and directions links get your address or area.
  • Leave HTML and code widgets alone, such as an "open now" badge with the starter's opening hours, and list them for you.
  • Never invent prices, numbers, years, awards, certifications, names, addresses, phone numbers or testimonials. Where the starter shows such a detail and your answers do not give it, the app writes a placeholder in square brackets, such as [Client name], [Price] or [Year founded]. Figures such as "18+" stay as they are, for you to check.
  • Write an SEO title and a meta description for each page, and a tagline for the site.
  • At the end, list every placeholder, figure and HTML widget left, page by page, and remind you to replace the logo and the photos.

The starter's Licenses page is not on the list: it credits the photos and fonts, so its text stays as it is.

Use the prompt in Claude

With a Pro or Agency licence, your site also offers the ready-made prompt Make a starter site yours. In Claude, pick it from your site's connector, describe your business in it (name, what you do, where, for whom, services and contact details) and, if you like, the tone. It gives Claude the same instruction, and Uncoder keeps a copy of every page first, so Undo works the same way. Other AI apps that support MCP prompts list it too. See Ready-made prompts.

Check the result

Next to each page, the list shows how many placeholders are left; hover the number to see them. Click Open to open the page in the editor.

When pages are rewritten, a message sums up the progress, for example 4 pages of 6 rewritten. Then:

  1. Fill in the placeholders. Search for [ with Find & replace under Settings → Tools to find every one. See Find & replace across the site.
  2. Swap the logo and the photos for your own. The starter's logo is an image in the header (and often the footer): click Open next to them in the list and replace it there.
  3. Read each page once before you publish it, and check the figures the app listed.

Undo

  • Click Undo next to a rewritten page and confirm with Put it back. The page gets the starter's texts again.
  • Click Undo all at the bottom and confirm with Put them all back to restore every page and site part.

Undo always goes back to the texts the page had before its first rewrite, even if the AI app rewrote it several times. Changes you made to the page since then are lost. The site title and the Business & SEO details stay as they are.

Every change of the AI app is also listed under Uncoder → AI & MCP → Activity, where you can undo single changes. See Activity log & undo.

Fewer placeholders

The more true facts you give, the fewer placeholders the app leaves. Add your prices, your years in business and the names of your team under Anything else.
