Page checks & reports
Check every published page for accessibility, search, content, mobile and speed problems, check the site's setup, and turn the results into a branded report for clients.
On this page
Uncoder → Page Checks checks every published page and post built with Uncoder in one go: accessibility, search, content, mobile and speed. It also checks a few things about the site's setup that visitors and search engines notice before any page. Each problem comes with a plain explanation of how to fix it.
Page checks are free on every plan. With an Agency licence, you can turn the results into a branded report for a client.
Page Checks is available to everyone who can edit pages with full builder access. It does not change anything: each page is read as it is saved, and no visitor sees anything.
Check your pages
Open Page Checks
Go to Uncoder → Page Checks. The Pages card shows how many published pages there are to check.
Run the checks
Click Check with the number of pages, for example Check 12 pages. A bar shows the progress; click Stop to end early.
Read the summary
At the top, a ring shows the average score out of 100, next to the number of pages checked and the totals to fix, to improve and notes.
Click Check again after you have fixed things to see the new scores.
Read the results
The Pages card lists every page with its score, lowest scores first, and the number of issues to fix and to improve. Scores of 90 and up are green, 70 to 89 amber, below 70 red.
Click a page to open its issues. Each one has a label, the problem, the topic and, in a second line, how to fix it:
| Label | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Fix | A real problem for visitors or search engines. Start with these. |
| Improve | Worth changing, but the page works. |
| Note | A hint, for example a missing meta description. |
The same problem repeated on a page counts once, with the number of places, for example 6 places, so one text style used everywhere does not sink the score. Edit opens the page in the editor; View opens it on the site.
For the details of a single page while you edit it, use the editor's Checks panel. See Accessibility checks.
What is checked
| Topic | Examples |
|---|---|
| Accessibility | Images without alternative text, text with too little contrast, links and buttons without a name, form fields without a label, maps and videos without a title, videos that play with sound, a custom tab order, one H1 per page and heading levels in order. |
| Search | Pages without a meta description. |
| Content | Empty or very long headings, placeholder text, buttons without a link or a label, empty image blocks, link text such as "Click here". |
| Mobile | Rows that do not stack on phones, grids with too many columns on phones, images that do not shrink. |
| Speed | Too many font families, images loaded from another website. |
| Build quality | Boxes nested very deep, and empty boxes. |
Site setup
The Site setup card checks the site as a whole and marks each point OK, Improve or Fix:
- Secure connection (HTTPS)
- Visible to search engines: whether Discourage search engines is off under WordPress Settings → Reading
- Site icon
- Readable page addresses: permalinks such as
/about/instead of/?p=12 - Privacy policy page
- Site tagline
Each point that is not OK says where to change it.
Branded reports
Agency. Without an Agency licence, the Reports card shows a See the plans link.
A report turns the results into a page of its own, under your agency's name, logo and colour, behind a private link. Send it to a client, or print it and save it as a PDF.
Set up your report branding
The Report branding card holds what every new report shows:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Agency name | Your name on the report, for example Report by and your name at the bottom. |
| Logo | Shown on a white tile at the top of the report. |
| Colour | The report's header and links. |
| Contact line | At the bottom of the report, for example your email and phone number. |
| Introduction | A few words at the top of every report. |
Empty fields use your white-label brand. Click Save. New reports use the branding; earlier reports keep theirs.
Create a report
Check the pages
Run the checks first. With an Agency licence, Create report appears at the top once there are results.
Click Create report
Give the report a Title (it starts as Website check · and the site name) and fill in Prepared for.
Choose the build notes
Leave Include build-quality notes off for clients. Turn it on for your own team: it adds the notes about nesting depth and empty boxes.
Create it
Click Create report. The message The report is ready. has an Open button.
The report shows the overall score and a short verdict, the site setup, Fix once, improve many pages with the problems shared by several pages, the results By topic and Pages, and the Details of every page. Its Print or save as PDF button opens your browser's print dialog, where you can save the report as a PDF.
Share and manage reports
The Reports card lists your reports with their score, pages, number of points and date:
- Open shows the report; Copy link copies its private link.
- The refresh icon makes a new link. The old link stops working, so use it when a link reached the wrong people.
- The trash icon deletes the report and its link.
Anyone with the link can open the report without logging in. Search engines are asked not to index it. A report is a snapshot: it does not change when you fix the pages, so create a new one to show progress.
Reports and their branding are available to the administrators who manage the licence. With white-label Only me turned on, only to you.
When the Agency licence ends, the links you sent keep working. New reports and branding changes need the licence again.
